Yayyy so I'm finally getting the rest of my swatches up for you all! Over the weekend I had a little Dollar General haul and sunday I posted the swatches for the three Wet 'N' Wild polishes that I bought and today I have the six LA Colors polishes that I bought as well. I really love all of these colors, they're all so fun. So, now lets to to the pretty swatches!
First up we have Cactus and it's one of my new favorites! It's one I came across by accident, I was looking through the bin and looking for some other colors, but this one just jumped out at me. It's such a pretty color, but definitely not one I would have seen myself actually buying, and it's truly unique to my collection, I don't own anything else like it, I love it. It's a dark chocolate brown with TONS of golden shimmer. It's soooo gorgeous and I love it. It's one I may actually wear on it's own if I was in a hurry and didn't have time for nail art. This one was almost a one coater too, but to cover up any imperfections or lighter streaks, I went ahead with a second coat. So this is two coats with no top coat.
Next up, my least favorite of the bunch, Festive it's a jelly red color. It's a little off from a true red, which is what I was looking for but could only find this one. I've never need a fan of red on anything, I'm super pale and a natural red head, so me and the color red just do not get along well. I actually prefer the way it looks on my nails over anything else, but I'm still not really a fan. BUT, who has a polish collection and doesn't own at least one red? Plus there's a few nail art looks that need red in it to look right or certain color combination so, I've been meaning to get one. This is the only one I could find. This polish is also the only one I bought of the six that isn't in the Color Craze line of polishes, and only the second I own in this line. Not because their bad polishes, just because that colors don't grab me as much. ANYWAYS. This polish applied easily, smoothly and all of that. It is a jelly though and a little bit sheer so it definitely takes more than one coat. This is two coats with no top coat.
Next up we have La Creme. This is one that I was most excited about finding. I've never seen it in the bin before and it was the only one left, so score! It's an amazing cream colors. It's white, but not white if that even made sense at all. I love that it's nearly white, but not so stark and bright white. And it looks much better on me than a real white I think. This ones formula disappointed me most though. It's a sheer Crelly type polish, and very streaky. Maybe I just got impatient because I wanted to get swatches done, but it kept pulling, and streaking, and no matter what I did, I couldn't cover them up completely. You can sort of see that in these pictures too. This is three coats with no top coat.
Next is Scream, a bright limey slime green. In these pictures it shows a little lighter than it is in real life, so it's just a tad bit darker in real life. It's for a somewhat sheer jelly formula, and application was sort of a mess. It kinda started to dry as soon as it touched the nail which made it kinda hard to spread over the nail. And it was hard to get it to smooth out and it was kinda thick. But I think the color was was pretty and worth the little bit of trouble. This is three coats and no top coat. The third coat was mainly to try to smooth it all out which didn't work well. Top coat would probably help with that though.
Next is Spat! which is a bright red based orange. This is one I've seen several times and I've been meaning to grab it, but other colors have just gotten my attention more, but I finally grabbed this one and I love it! It's so pretty and bright and perfect for summer. It's similar to Scream in formula, it's a somewhat jelly type formula and finish. Though, it was much easier to work with, it was much smoother and applied easier. I loved it. This is two coats with no top coat, and this one will probably most definitely be getting plenty more use.
Last, but definitely not least, we have Wisteria, a purpleish pink, lilac color. It was much more purple in the bottle, and seemed to get more of a pink tone to it on the nail as it dried. It's a very pretty color and I love it so much. It's probably another one that's going to get a lot of use from me. I love the way it looks against my skin tone and everything too. I thought this was just a plain cream, but then when I was looking at the bottle just now while writing this, I realized it has a very very slight shimmer to it. It's hardly noticeable unless the light hits it just right. This one was easy to apply, almost done in one coat, but a second was needed to cover any imperfections in the first. So this is two coats with no top coat.
What do you think of these colors? Would you grab any of them yourself? These polishes really are a steal for only $1 and the quality for the price is really awesome. They need to get some new colors out though because I own almost all of the ones there are now, at least the colors I actually like. There's a few more I'll grab but after.. they need to get new ones!
Also, in the comments if you could, let me know you're favorite drug store red! I'm still looking for a true red so I have at least one in my collection but I don't want to spend more than like $3-4 on one, less would be even better since I know I won't use it a lot. Thanks!
There all lovely colors you picked up. At $1, there really affordable :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I love them for this reason, when you don't get a lot of money to spend, the dollar polishes are amaaazing if they're good, more bottles for the money you do get to spend on them :)
DeleteI have most of these except for Festive and La Creme.
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I've even seen festive and la creme at my dollar general, and since I didn't have them yet and they caught my attention, lol. :D
DeleteOh, Wisteria is nice! I can usually find these at a locally owned general discount store, but their polish selection is always pretty lacking. I wish we had something a little bigger!
ReplyDeleteI loove wisteria. This polishes, most of them at least, are awesome to water marble with. And I had that problem at first too, family dollar has them but they always have the same colors and never get anything new, then I discovered dollar general gets all the new ones in.
DeleteNow I've bought just about all the ones I like from both places though, so they need more! haha
