Mickey Mouse Pictorial

Hi y'all! So I have another post for you all today! Some Mickey and Minnie Mouse nail art! This is one I actually did quite some time ago and wasn't actually going to share here on the blog as I just wasn't all that happy with how it actually turned out, and plus, it took me a while to remember the pictures were just sitting on my computer waiting to be edited and turned into a blog post, so I ended up just posting it on the facebook page and being done with it. But I recently got a request for a tutorial for them so I thought I'd go ahead and share here when I did that! So here you go! And we should probably go ahead and get on with said tutorial which will be in pictorial form. I'm not good with videos so it'll have to do! 

I used wet n wild wild shine protective base coat and two coats of LA Color Whipped To start, but use whatever base color you'd like to start with! I also do all my nail art with acrylic paint but feel free to use polish instead, they'll both work just as well, I just find acrylic paints easier to work with. 

1) start with the basic shape of the mouses head. Make a half circle at the edge of the nail and then two full circles connected to it for the ears, and you have a Micky Mouse head shape! 

2) Use a flesh toned color and make the shape of the face. I start by making a heart like shape at the top and then making a odd long shaped oval at the bottom. Then fill all of that in. 

3) Make the basic layout of the face with the black and a detail brush. You can go back over it with the flesh color if you need to to cover mistakes and keep going back and forth til it looks the way you like. 

4) Fill in the eyes with white, leaving a little bit of black showing as an outline and then add dots in the center of the white to make his pupils. 

**At this point, if making Micky Mouse, you're done with him, top coat and leave it. For Minnie Mouse, follow the last two steps as well** 

5) Add in some eyelashes and the pink bow. Make a dot in between her ears, right above her head and draw two triangles coming out of the dot on either side to get the shape of the bow and then add some white dots. 

6) Add your favorite top coat to seal it all in and you're done! Also note if using acrylic paint, or for bumpier designs from the different layers of polish, two coats of top coat may be needed to smooth everything out.

Frankenstein Nail Art + Pictorial

Happy Halloween!

Hi Y'all! It's finally Halloween! I'm sooo excited. I wish more people would be more excited about Halloween with me, It's the only holiday that matters if you as me. Today I have some cute little frankenstein nails for you all! They're such cute little green guys! I'm kinda sad this will be my last spooky/cute/gory Halloween look for this year! But I do have a tutorial to share with you all below!

So first off, we're gonna grab all out supplies. For this look I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Green With Envy for the base color, then I used black and white acrylic paints for the details. To make the details I used a small paint brush, a dotting tool, and a tooth pick. Now lets get started learning how to recreate this look!

1) Take your paint brush and black paint (or nail polish, either works, I just prefer the paint myself.) and outline around the cuticle about 1/4 of the way down the nail, the shorter your nails are, the less room you want to take up with this by the way. Once the cuticle is outlines, bring down little points all the way across and then fill it in!

2) Once his hair is there, take a large dotting tool, and your black paint again, (or polish) and make two large dots, these will be his eyes.

3) While you're waiting for his eyes to dry a little bit, take your paint brush again and make his mouth. For mine I used a diagonal line and then they smaller lines crossing it to make stitches. You can do your mouth straight across if you'd like, I just liked the way it looked diagonally better personally.

4) Once the mouth is done and the eyes have dried most of the way, if not all the way, take a tooth pick, dip it into white acrylic paint (Or polish, again, which ever you prefer, they'll both work) and make a tiny little dot in the corner of each eye to give the eyes a bit of a shine.

5) Make sure your design is dry enough it won't smear (or crack, acrylic paint rarely smears, but it will crack if it's not dry enough, in my experience) and then add your favorite top coat to smooth it all out and seal it in! And you're done! 

Fall Leaves Manicure + Pictorial

Hi y'all! Today we take a small break from the gory, scary, Halloween looks and go for a more simple fall look! I went with something easy and cute, fall leaves! I'm not the happiest with how this came out, but it is pretty cute. And I have a little pictorial for you below if you'd like to know how to get the look! 

First off, gather you're materials needed. For this look I used LA Colors Whipped, some orange acrylic paint, green acrylic paint, a yellow acrylic paint (I forgot to put this one in the picture), and a lighter green acrylic paint. Keep in mind, you don't have to use the same base color I did, and you don't have to use acrylic paints if you don't want, just find polishes in your stash of those same colors. Or if you'd rather do your leaves in a different color, you can do that as well. I also used a dotting tool and a small paint brush.

1. Once you have your base coat and base color on and dry, use your dotting tool and you leaf colors and dot on where you want the paints of your leaves to go. You can make your leaves as small or as big as you'd like, and if they overlap, that's okay too. 

2. Once your dot points are there, you can use your small brush and draw lines to connect the points like shown in the picture. Nope, doesn't look much like a leaf yet, but we're getting there. 

3. Use your paint brush again to fill out the lines, thickening them up and making the points more pointy, just do it til you're happy with the shape of your leaves. Mine got kinda wonky, but it doesn't have to be perfect! 

4. Take your lighter colors now, I used the yellow over the orange and the light minty green over the green, and add some depth to your leaves. Follow the same sort of pattern you did when connecting the dots in step 2, just don't pull the lines all the way to the very tip. Looking more like a leaf now, right? 

5. Add your favorite top coat and you're done!

Spider web + Zebra nail art!

Hi y'all! We have some more.. some what Halloween nail art for you today! I really wanted to do some Zebra print nail art, so I did both. 

For the gradient, I started with a base of two coats of white and let it dry. For the actual gradient, I used LA Colors Spat!, Scream, and Wisteria. I painted them onto a make up sponge and made my gradient. When that was dry I used white Acrylic paint and a small paint brush to paint on the details. I topped it with a coat of KiloX Lacquers Opulent Top Coat to add some sparkle and then top coated! I really love how these came out! 

Oh and look! I have a Pictorial to share with you as well today! I'll show you how to do the spider web design! 

I guess the first step would actually be, to gather your materials needed. I used LA Colors Spat!, Wisteria, and Scream, along with wet n wild A Blank canvas, and white acrylic paint. Also a small paint brush, and a make up sponge. If you need to know how to do a gradient, my pictorial for that is here. 

Also, don't forget you're favorite base coat to help prevent staining your nails, and help your mani last longer, along with your favorite top coat. 

1. Once you're background is dry, use your white acrylic paint. (keep in mind, you can use white polish, I just prefer the paint) and the small paint brush, and make three curved likes in the corner of your nail. Almost making a miss shapen half circle with the connecting curved lines.

2. Do the same thing as in step one, only make it a little bigger, a little above the first set of lines you made. So you have two half circles made from connecting curved lines, one slightly bigger than the other. 

3. Now you draw two straight lines through from the point of the larger half circle, all the way down to the end of the nail. The points of each set of curved lines should line up pretty well, but they don't have to be perfect. The straight lines should meet at the end of the nail, sort of like your were making an upside down "A" 

4. Both of these steps are optional. But I used my KiloX Opulent Top Coat and put one coat over the nails, then I pressed a little gem stone in the corner of the spider web with it was still wet. 

5. Add top coat, and you're done! Now you have a cute Halloween spider web mani!
