Osis dust it hair powder and Broadway nails imPRESS press on nails review

A couple weeks ago I got my second box from Influenster.com. The spring fever vox box, and it had quite a few fun items in there. I haven't gotten around to writing about or using some of the things just yet, but I bring you two of them today! So, let's get on with the review.

And for those of you that don't know what influenster is, it's a website where you can earn badges for filling out surveys and writing reviews on products to up your score, the higher your score the more likely you are to qualify for boxes. When you're picked, they send you a box full of different items to try, test, and review, and the voxbox badge has different things to do for the box like posting a picture of it to instagram, twitter, etc, and there's activities to do for each item in the box as well.

Off-topic Tuesday

Yay! Time for another Off-topic Tuesday. I skipped last week because I didn't have much to add, but that just means that I have more to include this week! I hope you are all enjoying these posts as much I am am enjoying putting them together and talking about things other than nail polish and beauty items. It gives me a chance to let my readers get to know me a little bit better and see what else I'm interested in besides just polish and beauty. So lets get started shall we?

Palmolive SoftTouch from Influenster off-topic tuesday

Not exactly nail related. But, I've gotten my first products from Influenster and they happened to send me dish soap. haha. I guess it has to do with nail related things as dish soap and washing dishes can be hard on your hands? They sent me the vitamin E and the coconut butter formulas of the product and both smell AMAZING.

I'm also just going to say that I wasn't expect such large bottles of the product. It's my first time getting things from Influenster so I wasn't sure what to expect really, but I figured it would be sample sized bottles or at least the smallest size ones you could get. Instead it was two pretty large size bottles. One is suppose to be for me, and another for a friend. I don't really have anyone to give it too so, I told my mom she'd use one and I'd use the other, haha. There was also 5 $1 off coupons for the product in the box that you're suppose to give to friends and whatnot.

I just received the box on Friday? I think? It might have been Saturday. It was sometime over the weekend. Then my mom joked that it was her mothers day/birthday present. (Yes, sometimes her birthday falls on mother's day and this year was one of those times, haha). But BESIDES THE POINT. To be honest, we probably won't be buying it again as it's expensive and we can't afford it. so, no matter how much we like/don't like it, doesn't really make much of a difference in whether or not we'll be buying it after this. Maybe if it's ever on sale.

So far, it's been good! It's soft on your hands as it says, doesn't dry them out or make them gross. At least, my mom says it's making her hands better. I'm kind of a freak about grabbing lotion anytime my hands are near water or soap of any kind, so I wouldn't be able to notice a difference at all anyways. I think our only complaint about these is that the smell sticks. If I go wash dishes, my hands will smell like the soap the rest of the day NO MATTER WHAT. and if you wash plastic dishes, they tend to hold the smell as well and you can't really get it out. We've been using the coconut one, and that ones not really that bad with that. but my mom tried the vitamin e one first and said it was worse on leaving the smell behind. So if you don't like smelling flowery hands or coconut after using it, it's probably not for you.

Off Topic Tuesday

Time for another off topic tuesday!
I'm not sure I have much to share today though, haha. I have a couple not so off topic things that aren't really worthy of getting their own post that I'm going to include, and also a couple pictures. Maybe.

First up is the not so off-topic things. This is my Mani for the weekend, and it doesn't really fit my challenges, but I didn't want to give it it's own post. So I'm just including it here. La colors meadow and pink bubbles and the black details are done with acrylic paint. I loooved it so much! It was so bright and pretty. I just love leopard print nails so much lately.
And this one isn't really off topic either, considering it is nail care of some sort. A couple months ago, I decided I wanted to make my own cuticle oil. Just for myself, but I looked up different oils and the benefits of using them and all of that. Jojoba I decided was a must, and the rest was up for debate. I didn't want to use just jojoba because I wanted to mix it with other oils to get the benefits of all of them, on top of making my oils last that much longer. The smallest bottles I can find are 4oz bottles, and right now I have 3 different ones. That will last me FOREVER. The before picture is from about 6 weeks ago, the after picture is from just a few days ago. And other than the horrible yellow staining on my nails they look MUCH better. You can tell my cuticles are looking better than ever. I miss my length though :( That's growing back though!

Those results were just with jojoba and grape seed oil. I recently added a vitamin e oil to it though. One that I thought was just vitamin e when I ordered it, but when I got it, discovered it was vitamin e, coconut, and mineral oil. But since I'm only using a little bit of it mixed with everything else, It'll work still and add coconut oil to the mix as well. I've almost got enough to order almond oil to add to the mix as well and then I want to get some apricot and avocado oil to add as well as some fragrance oils. I'm getting there slowly! But then once I have those three oils and the fragrances I want, it'll be complete! I'm still debating whether or not I should add olive oil, anyone have any thoughts on that?

Yes.. I rambled a lot there. I'm done with that subject.

I've been watching the new series on netflix, hemlock grove? I don't know how much I like it yet, it's just the second episode I watched last night. But.. I have to say.. it's the goriest werewolf transformation I think I've ever seen. Ever. But then.. I don't watch a lot of werewolf movies either so I could have been missing out on those gory gross transformations all this time! Maybe I should check out some of them and see, haha. I love gory gross horror movies. I'm hard to scare, so they NEVER scare me. But, they might possibly succeed in grossing me out one day. Anyone ever seen the human centipede? If you're easily grossed out.. I wouldn't touch it.. just saying.

Aaand last for this week.. I've recently (as in, just yesterday) remembered that new found glory is amazing and that they've got a pretty recent album out. Maybe not that recent, (It's about a year old I think?) But still. I'm a fail at keeping up with these things and I find them late. But spotify has been amazing at keeping up. I've always loved them, seen them live at warped tour once. Almost got crushed against the barricades even though the security guy tried to tell me not to stay there, right before giving me his super hot and gross been sitting in the sun all day monster energy drink because he didn't like it, haha. I didn't really care that I was getting crushed though. One of the best shows ever. Even in texas july heat. Horrible.

I think I've rambled enough though, so I'll leave you here.

off-topic tuesday

So today, we're going to try something new. A new ~day of of sorts. Off-topic tuesday. I'll take Tuesdays to post whatever I want. Talk about movies I've watched in the last week, games I've been playing, a song or album I can't get enough of. A Favorite picture for the week. Anything like that. It'll be different every week, (or whenever I post.) but I'm definitely not promising to remember to do it every week just like bunday sunday. It might happen every other week, or once a month, or anything in between there. But I will be doing it when I remember, at least if you guys like the idea. So, now lets get on with the rest of the post which could get pic heavy so I'm adding a jump.
