Snowflakes! + bornprettystore review!

Hi y'all! I'm back with another blog post! I'm doing the clairestelle8 challenge for December which is hosted on instagram right here. I've also got a few items from bornprettystore I used in this post as well!

To start with I did a gradient with Wet N Wild French White Tip, Teal Slowly And See, and Chambray Showers. That was topped with KiloX Opulent Top Coat. The ring finger I used chevron striping tape from born pretty store which they sent to me free of charge in exchange for review. It worked just as well as any other striping tape and I got this cute little pattern on my nails with it! Cute!
You can get it here for about $1.47

For the snowflakes I used metallic acrylic paint and a liner brush which was also sent to me by born pretty store to review. This brush wasn't my favorite just because it could have been smaller for better details, but it worked well otherwise!

You can get the brush here.

31 day challengeL Gradient nails

Hi y'all! We're back again today to continue the 31 day challenge! Today's theme for the challenge is gradient nails. I wanted something bright and fun to counter act all the rain we've been having lately! I hate it as it is, but it's definitely getting old now.

For these I decided on doing a circle gradient because.. it was a little different than the usual gradient. Plus, I've never done one before, so I also get to try something new at the same time. Fun, right? Right!

For these I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and then I used Broadway nails Sunflower and LA Colors in Pumpin' Pink and Flicker to do the gradient. Just painted all the colors on a make up sponge and sponged them on. I wasn't too happy with how they turned out - this technique needs a lot of practice, but I think it was okay for a first try.
Annnd just for fun! I haven't shown you guys Valentina in a while. This is what we call a "Dead Bunny Flop" and Tina is an EXPERT at them. Imagine walking into the room and seeing that and getting no response whatsoever because bunny is in a super deep sleep.

It's heart attack inducing. I'm not even kidding. I freak out every single time.

Then she lifts and ear, or twitches her nose. Or her favorite, chewing or washing her face in her sleep which I guess she must be dreaming about eating or something and I take a great big deep breathe and go 'omg okay your fine' and she looks at me like 'wtf mom I was comfy and tired. now go away'

#bomnailartjune: Lady Bugs!

Hi y'all! I'm back again with nail art from an Instagram nail art challenge! The #bomnailartjune challenge! You can search up that hashtag on the app or website (I think?) to see what everyone else came up with for today's theme of Lady Bugs.

I was much more excited about these in my head than I was on my nails. They just didn't quite some out the way I imagined they would. For the base color, I used Wet N Wild I Need A Refresh-Mint and the rest of the colors were done using acrylic paint. Just some dots with a dotter to get the shapes and pattern of the little lady bugs. This was so cute in my head but didn't translate perfectly to the nail. Oh well, maybe next time?

31 day challenge: Rainbow nails

Hi y'all! We're back to the 31 Day Challenge now! Today's theme is rainbow nails and I had to do something extra special with them. I made them into a Rainbow Bridge theme and added a little bunny silhouette to represent my Foofy bun. I still miss her crazy butt all the time and it seemed like a good way to show I was still thinking about her.

These were super fun and easy to do. You'll be able to find a tutorial up on my YouTube channel so head over there to see that!

I started these off with NYC Skyline Blue for the base color. The rest of the colors a re all acrylic paints and it was pretty easy. I wanted the rainbow to look like it was going across all of my nails. Then on the ring finger I painted my little bunny silhouette. It was suppose to be from behind the bunny.. like shes looking towards the rainbow. This I used Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope and put a very light coat over the rainbow on all nails except the accent, on that one I put it over the bunny. Just to add a little bit of sparkle!

#bomnailartjune Instagram challenge: Butterfly!

Hi y'all! I found a challenge on instagram this afternoon. I'm actually a day late in starting it, but it looked like it would be a lot of fun to try and do! I definitely need something to give me some inspiration in painting my nails. I get a little tired of just doing the same thing all the time. The first days challenge is for butterflies. It's been a while since I've tried butterfly wings, thought I'd give it a shot. Only as an accent though.

For this looke I used Rimmel London Green With Envy and Sunny Days, and NYC Palm On The Beach. I painted Green With Envy as my base color. Then on my accent/wing nail I sponged on all three colors. Adding each until they blended and looked the way I wanted them to. On the rest of the nails I made a half circle in white acrylic paint. Then another line above that of the white. Then I used black to make the silhouette of a butterfly. I think it came out super cute!

31 day challenge: Purple nails + bornprettystore review!

Hi y'all! Today I have some more nail art for you all! The next them in the 31 day challenge is purple nails. This is also a double post to review a stamping plate I got from born pretty store. Which was so much fun and so easy to work with.

For these nails I kept it super simple. I used Wet N Wild Who Is Ultra Violet? and Konad black stamping polish. I just used let the base color dry. Then I stamped over it with the stamping polish and nail stamper.

The plate was really awesome! So cute and so fun to use. I like how these turned out so much!

If you would like to grab this plate for yourself, they sell right here for $5.99.

31 day challenge: Blue nails!

Hi ya'll! I have some more nail art for the 31 day challenge to share with you all today! These were a lot of fun to do and they follow the 'blue' prompt. I looove blue so I was so excited to work with a blue nail base.
Has anyone seen this commercial? Surely you have, but this is the best screenshot I could find/get from it, of the item I was after. These nails were inspired by the dress in this commercial. I just LOVE blue and orange together and when I seen this dress I just HAD to do nails like that, perfect fo the blue nail theme too, right?

For these nails I used Wet N Wild Chambray Showers And Listening ToBlue Reed, as well as Sinful Colors Snow Me White the base color is Chambray showers then I randomly dotted all three colors on a make up sponge and sponged over the nail to get a bit of a textured look. More depth to the look if you will. The flowers were done with Acrylic paint, orange and yellow and various mixes of those two colors to get the shade I wanted for them. Then the centers are dotted in with LA Colors Cactus and I just LOVE how all of these look! So much fun! And I'm getting so much better and more confident in my flowers. Mostly just super duper simple type flowers, but either way, they are flowers and they don't look horrible!

31 day challenge: green nails

Hi y'all! Ignore that my top coat wrinkled -_- I swear it was dry and then I touched it wrong and nope. It was most definitely NOT dry. Huge fail. Today is the green nails theme for the 31 day challenge, and I some kiwi nail art for it! I've never done kiwi nails before but I've been wanting to for a long time, so the perfect excuse to do it, right?! Right!  Anyways.

For this look I used Sally Hansen Green With Envy for the green polish base, then the rest is acrylic paint. I used a slightly darker green, then white over that, and black for the small seeds. All of it was done with a detail brush.

31 day challenge: Yellow nails!

Hi y'all! I'm back again with my yellow nails for the 31 day challenge! I decided on spring-y bumble bees, which I've done before, but I like the way these have turned out much better! It's a little weird doing this challenge all on my own, but it usually turns out that way anyways. It seems no one wants to do challenges or anything else with me BIG FAT SAD FACE.

Anyways. For my yellow nails I used LA Colors Daisy and for the accent nail I used Sally Hansen Breezy Blue and everything else was done with acrylic paint and a detail brush. These were super fun and so easy to do!

31 day challenge: orange nails

Hi y'all! I'm continuing the 31 day challenge today with the theme of orange nails! I decided to do orange slice nails just because I thought they would be fun and I've done them before so wanted to see how I could change them up and see the improvement since the last time which was back in 2012! I think there was a bit of improvement, and there is DEFINITELY a difference in the pictures! I've learn a lot in the last two years since those were posted! Anyways.

I started these off with LA Colors Orange Crush making half circle shapes on the tips of my nails and two coats over the whole nail for the accent nails. I used white acrylic paint to paint the orange slice design (all freehanded) and then I used some Fimo Can slices that look like oranges to add a bit extra to the look. (Just like the first time around ;) )

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you thought in the comments below and keep an eye out for the yellow nails for the next part of the challenge!

Let It Snow Winter Challenge; Stripes!

Hi y'all! I have some fun nautical stripes for you today for the Let It Snow Challenge. The theme for the day was stripes and I've been wanting to do some nautical nail art so it was the perfect excuse to do it finally.
I started out with a base color of Sinful Colors Rain Storm for the dark blue, then I used white acrylic paint and a striping brush to make the stripes and the shape of the anchor.
I then went over the white anchor with LA Colors in Deluxe to get the gold and added a dot at the top with a dotting tool, then used Rain Storm again to make a smaller dot inside the gold one. I was pretty excited with how these turned out.

Be sure to check out the rest of the challenge themes and all the other ladies stripe manis below! And let me know what you think in the comments!
