I'm baaack! + Skeleton girl nail art

Skeleton Girl Nail Art, purple and green swirlies, lace manicure
Hi y'all! Let's see if I remember how to do this blogging thing. Real quick, let's get to the nails, then I'll explain a bit about where I've been, why the blog has been sitting with no activity lately.

First, the nails. For these, I used Wet N Wild Get High for the green base color, for the purple, I used Wet N Wild Eggplant and for the sparkly green? It's a NYC polish that I can't remember the name of, and I don't have it in front of me. I can tell you it was a part of last years holiday collection though and I'm just getting around to using it.

The girl was made using acrylic paint, as was the black lines on the other nails. I'm not too happy with the face as the eyes are a HUGE mess, but it made for good practice as I definitely need to get better at faces.

And as for the explanation? Go ahead and click the jump to see that

bornprettystore Stamping and studs!

Hi y'all! This is the second post for the day! and the last I promise! I don't wanna spam everyone too much! These are some more items I got to review from BornPrettyStore. There's a stamper, a stamping plate, and some studs including in this post.

First up we'll do the studs. They come in a little jar and they have a mix of shapes in them. There are squares, circles, and a sort of tear drop shape? And there are also a variety of colors mixed in there. There's a pretty good amout of them to play with and they were easy enough to pick out the shape and color you want, I would probably separate them out if I had empty containers to put them into though. I had so much fun playing and trying to find a way to use them though.

You can get them here and they cost about $2.86 for the little jar of them.

Second up is the stamper I received. I was super excited about it being a squishy stamper being as how everyone always goes on and on about how GREAT they are. And let me tell you... if this is they're idea of a great easy to use stamper? I don't wanna know what a bad one is to them. I had SO MUCH trouble with it. I wouldn't get it to pick up the images. I prepped it in every single way I could find to prep it with out totally ruining it and still noting. It picks up images half way or not at all. I know it wasn't the plate itself either because my normal konad stamper picked up the image fine. I'm going to try one last thing to get it to work correctly before I write it off completely, but if that doesn't work? Then no. I don't recommend it unless you have experience with squishy stampers because I definitely can't figure this one out.

It sells right here for $3.84 With the scraper included.

Last up is the stamping plate I received! It's a "Music Themed" plate (It's actually Michael Jackson Themed, I picked it for the music note pattern and nothing else tbh)  with some pretty cute images on it.The plate worked great! The images are crisp and clear and pick up perfectly with my konad stamper. (And the few times I got the squishy stamper to work right) so I would definitely recommend this one if you're into the images on it! And it's super cheap as well!

You can pick it up right here for just $0.99!

31 day challenge: Rainbow nails

Hi y'all! We're back to the 31 Day Challenge now! Today's theme is rainbow nails and I had to do something extra special with them. I made them into a Rainbow Bridge theme and added a little bunny silhouette to represent my Foofy bun. I still miss her crazy butt all the time and it seemed like a good way to show I was still thinking about her.

These were super fun and easy to do. You'll be able to find a tutorial up on my YouTube channel so head over there to see that!

I started these off with NYC Skyline Blue for the base color. The rest of the colors a re all acrylic paints and it was pretty easy. I wanted the rainbow to look like it was going across all of my nails. Then on the ring finger I painted my little bunny silhouette. It was suppose to be from behind the bunny.. like shes looking towards the rainbow. This I used Wet N Wild Kaleidoscope and put a very light coat over the rainbow on all nails except the accent, on that one I put it over the bunny. Just to add a little bit of sparkle!

#bomnailartjune Instagram challenge: Butterfly!

Hi y'all! I found a challenge on instagram this afternoon. I'm actually a day late in starting it, but it looked like it would be a lot of fun to try and do! I definitely need something to give me some inspiration in painting my nails. I get a little tired of just doing the same thing all the time. The first days challenge is for butterflies. It's been a while since I've tried butterfly wings, thought I'd give it a shot. Only as an accent though.

For this looke I used Rimmel London Green With Envy and Sunny Days, and NYC Palm On The Beach. I painted Green With Envy as my base color. Then on my accent/wing nail I sponged on all three colors. Adding each until they blended and looked the way I wanted them to. On the rest of the nails I made a half circle in white acrylic paint. Then another line above that of the white. Then I used black to make the silhouette of a butterfly. I think it came out super cute!

Glitter Gradient!

glitter gradient sinful colors sally hansen tempest big glitter top coat
H y'all! I have some more stuff to share with you today! These were some reviews I have to share with you. I got some of the holiday Big Glitter Top Coats from sally hansen but I just not got around to posting about them. (Of course.. I got them kind of late last month too so oh well) but they're so pretty! I used two of them here in this look.

I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Tempest and New York Color Tropicoral. and then I used the Big Glitter Top Coats to make a gradient on the tips of the nails. I used Goldi-flecks on the purpble and MeteorLight on the bright coral. I thought they can out really pretty! Formula is pretty much the same on them both, not as densely packed as the other Big Glitter Top Coat's I've tried so far but definitely have plenty of glitter in them. I did use a sponge to sponge the glitter onto the tips more densely to create the gradient. But there was plenty of glitter added with just a normal 1-2 coats if you just wanted to add some sparkle to your look!

Hope you all enjoyed this! Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Halloween skittle nails!

**Sent free of charge from Sally Hansen for halloween posts!*
Hi ya'll! Today I have a skittle Halloween look to share with you all! I was sent several goodies from Sally Hansen and NYC for the Halloween season. I'll share a few thoughts on them as well as I loved them all! (Or well most of them)

First up is the orange I used as a base on several fingers. Sally Hansen Instadri in Pumpkin Queen the formula on this one was amazing! It went on smooth and covered well in just two thin coats. It was also completely dry by time I finished the second hand!

Second up, over the orange on the thumb is NYC's Rock Muse Smokey top coat. While I looove the idea of these smokey top coats. (Sally Hansen has one now too, correct?) I didn't like that this one had glitter in it. It kinda took away from the smokey effect it's suppose to have, right? At least for me it did. Sooo total bust on that one. Without the glitter it would have been perfect. If you like the glitter in it? Grab it. It did what it was suppose to.

On the index finger is the Big Glitter Top Coat in Costume glitter by Sally Hansen. I put on two coats over black. Those are two rather thin coats as well and as you can see there is LOTS of coverage. You could probably add a third coat and get nearly full coverage from this glitter if you would like. Or use the sponge method which I still need to try on glitter polishes because I haven't yet! Anyways, if you love glitter, I would totally recommend grabbing this one if you can. There's another one too that has a gold glitter in it. I forget the name though.

On the middle finger we have Sally Hansens Salon Effects Nail Stickers. The ones I received were called Skull and Crossbones and they are just the cutest and more sparkly little skulls ever! I love the look of them. I'll admit, I was iffy on using them, afraid I'd mess them up. I've never used a nail sticker before. (I also have a set of those real nail polish nail strips from Sally Hansen I have yet to try) But these were super easy to use! Just peel them off, line them up on the nail, and stick them on! Might have to stretch and pull in places a little bit to get out wrinkles and make them fit just right. Just fold the excess over the nail edge and file it off! Easy! I wouldn't recommend these if you're planning on them stayed for some time. I put top coat around the edges of mine like it recommends on the package for longer where, but I still only got about two days out of them. So if you want something cute and quick for a party or other special occasion? These are perfect! But for long term wear, I would skip them.

Last up, but certainly not least, The pinky! The pinky is a base of the orange and two coats of Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in Fur-ankenstein and I loooove it! I love the fuzzy coats so much! I love how much coverage they give! So when I was offered the new Halloween ones I jumped at the chance to try them! There was one other in the set (something witch? was the name? I don't remember now.) and both looked amazing! This is the one I was sent though, and it's little yellow-green and black short bar glitters and looked amazing. Seriously, awesome move making fuzzy coats for Halloween!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Sleepy Hollow nails!

Hi y'all! I have some Sleepy Hollow inspired nail art to share with you all today! I looove this show and I'm so excited that the second season is starting in just a few days, I thought I just had to do something on my nails for the occasion. Does anyone else watch this show?

Anyways, for the look I started off with two coats of NYC Black Lace as the black, and then I used a make up sponge and various shades of light to dark gray acrylic paints to get sort of a misty haunted forest look. Then I used the darkest of grays to paint in some dead spooky tree's hiding in the mist. On the ring finger I tried to do the headless horseman as a silhouette or something like that but it definitely didn't work the was I was hoping it would. Overall I was really happy with how these turned out though!

Hope you all enjoying these as much as I did! Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Queen + Adam Lambert inspired Mani!

Hi y'all! I have some more nail art for you all today! This is inspired by the Queen + Adam Lambert tour! I was really sad I didn't get to go to the date in my city because of lack of funds for it when they were here last month, but I was inspired by Adam's tour wardrobe to do some nail art, not to mention his tweet about the color scheme of sorts for the tour.

Adam is one of my favorite people everr. I love his music, and his voice is so so so amazing, he's literally makes anything sound good. And it's such and amazing and perfect fit for Queens music. It's so crazy how that worked out! Anyways, click through the jump to see more and plus some pics of the inspiration behind them!

Watermelon nail art

Hi ya'll! I have some more cute fruit nail art for you all right now! This time I did some watermelon nail art! I loved how these came out so much and they were just so so cute!

Something else I wanted to share with these as well. I recently went to Dollar General hoping to get some new LA Colors polishes. Sadly, those were gone, (Or possibly moved? I'll have to look through the store better next time) and they were replaced with a new brand. Broadway Nails High Shine Nail Polish. They were also only $1 each so I thought, why not try a few? WELP! while, I haven't tried the colors I got yet, I have tried the base coat I grabbed (Who can resist a $1 basecoat that might actually possibly work?) and I LOVE it. When I did this Mani on a Monday, I left my right hand with just the base color, Basecoat under it, and NO top coat. Normally, even with my wet n wild base coat of choice, this means it chips quickly, but not this time! The broadway nails basecoat kept it in place with one very minor tip wear until I took it off that same Friday. Awesome right? RIGHT! Now, we'll get to the actual nail art, aha.

One stroke Butterflies with daisies

Hi y'all! I have some butterfly one stroke nail art to share with you all today! Really loved how these turned out! I tried butterflies once before this as well, and well, I didn't even finish it all the way as once I tried to get the shape of the butter fly on, it was just... not pretty. Looked nothing like a butterfly. So when I sat down to do these, I decided the one stroke butterflies would likely be much easier and they were! I love how these turned out so much! Just click through the jump to see more!

Four Shades From the NYC City Samba collection!

Hi y'all! I have some nail polish to show you all from some new summer collections! Looved playing with these. Today I have the NYC polishes from the new City Samba Collection, and tomorrow I'll be posting the Sally Hansen Rio Collection Polishes. These colors were so pretty and I really hope you all like them as much as I did!

First up we have Amazon Green a frosty finish blue-green color. It really reminds me of a Cyan Blue. This shot I had to get in direct sun to get the closest to true color on it. My camera hates me lately and these bright colors, it doesn't love as much as I do. One thing I wish was different about this color is the finish, I wish it were just a shimmer, or even a plain ol' creme as the frosty finish I don't really like and it shows brush strokes. Which, it was really brush stroke-y with the first coat, by the second it worked itself out and didn't look as bad. This is two coats with no top coat.

NYC New York Color 16H Lip Stain Swatch And Review

Hi y'all! Today I have something a little different for you. I'm not really a make up blogger, so I have no idea how to really do these, but I was offered to try these out by NYC New York Color and I couldn't turn them down. Maybe if this turns out, I could do these more often, but lets not get too ahead of ourselves just yet, haha.

I was sent three of the NYC 16H Lip Stains and I really like the colors of these that I got. I might actually use them quite a bit whenever I actually wear make up. This is what the lip stains look like without the lid, it's like a little lip marker. The tips are pretty stiff but after using them a couple times they loosen up. So if you have these and don't like te stiffness of the tip, just use them a few more times and it'll soften up.

Arm Swatches. THe swatch part is the part I'm not too sure about so hopefully these look okay. These are listed from left-right.
Rock On Ruby, Persistent Pink, and Unstoppable Red

And now we're gonna see some lip swatches
The first one is Persistent Pink, which is a much more subtle color than the other two. Keep in mind that these color may be different depending on the natural color of your lips as they're slightly sheer. Some more so than others it seems. This one in particular looked a lot different on the lip than I expected. But I really like it! It went on easy, and this is my first experience with a stain so I don't know if all of them are the same, but with this one, when it goes one, you have to wait a few seconds for it to dry and kind of set.
This one is Rock On Ruby which is a red on the lips. It looks like a darker red in the tube and on the arm swatch, but on my lips it was a much more true red and i loved it! I really think it was the perfect red for me, which I've been looking for for a LONG time. I'm not even kidding.
Last but not least we have Unstoppable Red, which in the tube looks much more like a coral-y orange-y pinkish red color but on the lip it's just a straight up pink. I really like the color of it and the color pay off of it, but it's definitely much different than I was expecting.

I have no idea on the wear of all of these as I didn't test that, I just put them on and wiped them right back off to get the swatches. They did clean off easily enough though, much easier than some lipsticks I've tried, and they don't smear around all over your face while you're trying to clean them off like some lipsticks can, either. I really like these over all though. and hope you enjoyed this post!

**These were sent to me free of charge in exchange for my honest review**

Let It Snow Challenge; Penguins + Pictorial

Hi Y'all! Third day of the Let It Snow Challenge which I'm hosting with Polished By Audison and today's theme is Penguins, which I also included a tutorial for so keep reading if you'd like to know how to do these cute little animal nails!

So first off grab your supplies. I again, prefer acrylic paints for my art as it's easier to use and dries much much faster. But you can use polish in place of the paints if you'd prefer.

I used NYC New York Color Black Lace for my base color, I also use LA Colors base/top coat for my base coat, and Sally Hansen Instadri Anit Chip Top Coat. I used white, black, and orange acrylic paints, along with a small paint brush and a dotting tool and tooth pick. So gather what you need for the look you're doing, any colors you want as these are your penguins, this is just the colors i chose to do mine in.

1) Once you're base color is dry use the white acrylic paint (Or polish, whatever your preference) and the small paint brush and make a heart shape in the center of the nail. For me, I find it a lot easier to get a decent heart if I do it in sections. I start with a dot where I want the bottom point to be, then a dot directly above that where I want the point where the two humps to meet at and draw a line straight down, then I draw a 'V' shape coming from the bottom point, shaping the bottom of the heart, then start shaping the top part from there one side at a time. If you need to correct anything, like I actually did, you can then use your base color (black in my case) and go around the edge of the shape until you get it to a way you're happy with it.

2) Take your dotting tool and black paint (Or polish) and make to large dots in the rounded part of the hearts for the eyes.

3) While you wait for the eyes to dry a little bit, get your brush back and your orange acrylic paint (or polish) and make little triangle shapes under the eyes to make the mouth, by time you're done with this, you're black dots should be dry enough that you can use a tooth pick and white acrylic paint (or polish) and place a tiny little white dot in the eyes.

4) Use your tooth pick (or brush, which ever you're more comfortable with) and make little 'V' shapes at the bottom of the heart shape on each side to make little penguin feet.

5) Add your favorite top coat to seal in the design and add an awesome shine while smoothing everything out and you're done! Keep in mind if you're using acrylic paints, this step is especially important or you're design will eventually start to wash off within a couple days or less as the paints wash off with soap and water.

Hope you enjoyed! Check out the other themes coming up below along with everyone elses penguin nails!
