Water marble wednesday!

Hi y'all! I've been slacking a little on the water marble Wednesday's. I've just been blah and uninspired to do water marbles, and then everytime I sit down to do one, it just doesn't come out right. But I swear to you, I'm going to try to get them out more often from now on. Let's say at least once a month from now on? More often depending if I'm feeling it or not.

This week is a little different though. This week I've teamed up with Polished by Audison to do a water marble Wednesday collab of sorts. And the ~theme we decided on was flowers. what that really meant was, we were sticking to the basic flower design of water marbling, but I took it just one step further and included flowers on my nails as well!

For this I started out with two coats of Sinful Shine Spitfire on all my nails. I used Wet 'N' Wild Wild Shine in Teal slowly and See, Listening to Blue Reed, and Who Is Ultra Violet? for the water marble on the middle and ring fingers. Let me just say by the way, these color's worked AMAZINGLY for water marbling, and I just love how they looked together. For the remaining fingers, I used a dotting tool, the purple from the water marbling, and LA Colors Bliss for the flowers. This are super simple and fun, and I just love how they turned out for once! I can't wait to keep getting better at this technique, it just makes for some super fun nails.

Be sure to check by Ashley's blog over at Polished by Audison to see what she does for water marble Wednesday. This girl is awesome at water marbles so you definitely won't be disappointed at all if you do!

Water marble Wednesday Fourth of July edition!

Water marble Wednesday again, already?! Today is a bit special for my water marble though as I've included the fourth of July in with it. I know it's not til tomorrow, but my Disney challenge posts then, so you get Fourth of July a day early.

Something else they tie into also, is my Uncle passed away over the last weekend, and his birthday would have also been on the fourth so it kind of works for both occasions.
For the water marble I used a base of Milani's Pearl Glaze and I used Sinful Colors Endless Blue and LA Colors Festive for the actual marble. I used those same red and blue colors on all the other nails to make a gradient as well. Then I found a star on one of my stamping plates and used Sinful Colors Snow Me White to stamp over the gradients. But just saying, I really, really really suck at stamping. It never works out well. But ah well.
My thumb is the one that stamped the best but it still isn't really good at all and not even close to being center.

What did you think of these? Let me know in the comments below!

Water marble Wednesday!

wet n wild i need a refresh mint retro mint la colors wisteria sinful colors snow me white water marble
So, I skipped water marble Wednesday last week because I was sick the week before that and I didn't feel like doing much of anything with my nails. Definitely didn't feel like dealing with the mess of water marbling to get ahead and have one all set up to post last week. But I did promise I'd bring it back this week with another water marble, so here we are! Just click the jump below to see more and find out how I did these nails.

Water marble Wednesday!

This weeks water marble was actually kinda hard to get done. The polishes just didn't want to cooperate. BUT I did manage to get this, not the greatest, but I like the way it came out. I used a base coat of Sinful Colors Snow me white and water marbled with LA Colors Meadow and Whipped. Click the jump below if you'd like to see a couple of fails while i was trying to get the polishes to work out.

Water marble Wednesday!

Okay, I wanna start doing a new weekly feature here for a while. I may not even do it every week myself but I'm gonna try!

First off, I LOVE the look of water marbles, but I can never quite do them just right. I always try to 'draw' the design in the water too much and the colors all mix together and it just looks like.. grossness once it's on the finger. OR I don't do that, actually get a good design, and then my finger placement sucks.

So, what I wanted to do was give myself a reason to do them more often so that I can get the practice and hopefully get better at doing water marbles. I've been avoiding them like the plague because of how messy they are and well.. if the results are exactly satisfactory then all that work and mess is for nothing, right? Right. But I want to change that so I'm going to try doing them more and this gives me the PERFECT reason to. Awesome. I'd also like anyone else that likes doing water marbles or wants more practice to join in as well, whether you post your own blog post for them, or you hop over to my facebook page and just post a picture on the wall. I'd love other to participate! Blog links are welcome on the facebook wall as well if you'd like to do both a blog and post on the wall.

This is my first attempt at water marble for water marble Wednesday. It's not my first water marble at all, and I think I'm getting much better even without doing them often at all. The only one I'm not really happy with is the ring finger and that has to do with placement I think because I like the was the design is on the finger but the blueish color got too sheer or something towards the left side there. Other than that I was really happy with these.

As a base color I used Sinful colors Unicorn, and the water marble colors used are LA colors Meadow, Daisy, and Bloom. I really loved the colors together and they worked perfectly for this. The only reason I used Unicorn instead of Daisy as the base was because Daisy takes three coats to be streak free while Unicorn is perfect in two coats so it was easier. They're very similar colors but Daisy is just a touch brighter.

What do you all think of these water marble nails? Will you be joining in for water marble Wednesday?
